Membership

The Membership Committee creates and develops a welcoming environment for visitors and reaches out to the larger community to increase awareness of the unique aspects and ministries of our community of faith. We strive to enhance and deepen the involvement of current members in our church.

Committee responsibilities include: 

• Join the congregation in greeting visitors during the Fellowship Hour. Maintain Welcome Table, host Newcomer Coffees, provide Welcome Mugs.
• Assist with the organization of the new member class and welcoming social events.
• Encourage and assist new members and their families in becoming involved in the ministries and fellowship of Immanuel.
• Encourage the identification of ways that our members can contribute to the life of the church and receive the benefits of that participation.
• Inform the McLean community of Immanuel events, presentations and activities.
• Assist the Session in maintaining accurate membership records.
• Annually update the directory, publish a pictorial directory as needed, maintain the name tag program, update visitor’s packet and other literature.

The Membership Committee is always looking for creative, friendly and welcoming individuals to help us with our mission of sharing the benefits of our faith community and ensuring the vibrancy and connection of current membership.
