Becoming a Member
We are delighted that you are considering joining our church family and look forward to getting to know you better. Prospective members come from a wide variety of backgrounds — including active Presbyterians new to the area, Christians from another denomination, others drawn to Christ for the first time, and those who have "wandered away."

We believe Church membership is serious. Therefore we encourage our members to be faithful in worship, charitable in giving, and generous in love and commitment to God and to each other. In a world where people are increasingly looking for meaning we remember Jesus' words "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We seek to reflect God's love through Jesus Christ at Immanuel Presbyterian Church.
Prior to joining Immanuel Presbyterian Church, prospective members attend Inquirers’ Class, with six weekly one-hour sessions, which begin at 10:10 during the Christian education hour.
Taught by clergy and supported by Membership Committee members, the classes include sessions on:
• Presbyterian beliefs
• Worship and sacraments
• Reformed theology
• Stewardship
• Sharing of faith journeys
• History and traditions at Immanuel
• How to get involved
The Inquirers’ Class members attend a festive brunch with Session and Membership Committee members at their last meeting before becoming members of the church.
Individuals may join by letter of transfer, reaffirmation of faith, or profession of faith.
There are several ways to indicate your interest in joining Immanuel Presbyterian Church:
