Aaron Fulp-Eickstaedt

On April 15, 2005, The Rev. Aaron Fulp-Eickstaedt joined us as Pastor. Aaron comes to us from Concord Presbyterian Church in Statesville, North Carolina, where he was co-pastor with his wife, The Rev. Judith Fulp-Eickstaedt. Previously he was Pastor of The Community Chapel of West Glens Falls, Glens Falls, NY. Aaron and Judith have two daughters, Rebecca and Martha. Daniel C. Thomas, Jr.

The Rev. Dan Thomas joined the Immanuel staff in November, 1997. He previously served churches in Canton, OH, Meadville, PA and Kenmore, NY. Dan oversees the children’s ministry and adult education programs at Immanuel. He and his wife, Susan, live in Vienna. They have two adult children: Andrew, who holds an engineering degree from Lafayette College; and Sarah, a 2006 graduate of Northwestern University's School of Law.



 



Brian Wilhour
Director of Music

A graduate of Bucknell University and an avid composer, Mr. Wilhour received a double Master’s Degree in 1994 from Westminster Choir College in Church Music and Organ Performance, with a concentration in choral conducting. Brian assumed the position of Director of Music at Immanuel in 1998. Under his leadership the music program continues to be a vital ministry in the life of the church. The music program includes opportunities for all ages.



   
Lee Larsen
Director of Music for Children and Youth

Lee Larsen has been directing church choral ensembles for adults and/or children for more than 10 years. He has a BA in Music with a concentration in Theory and Composition from Virginia Tech and is working on his Masters in Music Education with an Orff Emphasis at George Mason University. His chamber music and choral works, several of which are published, have been performed by many schools, churches, and community groups around Northern Virginia. Lee is also a music teacher and choral director for Fairfax County Public Schools. Here at IPC, Lee directs the Good News! Singers (1st-3rd graders) the Jubilate Choir (4th-6th graders), and CrossWind (a new youth music program for 7th-12th graders).
 




Jim Stover
Youth Director

Jim Stover is the most recent addition to the IPC staff. He came on board in April of 2006, bringing his energy and experience to help boost our ministry to junior and senior high youth. Jim is a 2005 M.Div graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and a 1995 graduate of American University’s School of International Service. He has previously served as interim youth director at Second Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, youth ministry intern at National Presbyterian Church, and chaplain intern at Washington Hospital Center. Jim spent two years in Croatia as a mission volunteer of the PC (USA), where he led an outreach to youth and taught English. He has also coordinated international mission experiences to the Balkans, and, here in Washington, served on the board of Miriam’s Kitchen (an urban homeless ministry) and taught English to adult immigrants. Jim is genuine, thoughtful, well-organized, and passionate about the task of helping youth connect faith and life—including thinking through the difficult questions life raises and leading youth and others in the call to serve those in need.



 



Tracey Daniels
Communications Coordinator

Ms. Daniels joined our staff on July 5, 2005, as Communications Coordinator. She is responsible for IPC communications, including the Sunday bulletin, E-Presence, newsletter, and other outreach communications. She will also assist Dan and Aaron in the preparation of printed materials to facilitate their programs. Tracey comes to us from Gospel Rescue Ministries in Washington, where she worked in communications and community outreach for the past two years. Her experience brings us to a new level in publishing technology.







Faye Irwin
Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Irwin joined the staff of Immanuel in 1991 as Administrative Assistant. She serves as support for our pastors as well as for the directors of Music and The Session. Known for her "open door" policy, Faye always finds time to greet members and friends, and make them feel welcome. Faye and her husband reside in Tysons Corner. They are the parents of two children and have one grandchild.



 



Mary Ann Vaughan
Business Manager

Ms. Vaughan joined our staff on August 1, 2005. She is responsible for all the functions in the Business Office. Mary Ann came to us from National Presbyterian Church, where she served for ten and one half years in various positions. She is married with one daughter, Rebecca. She resides in College Park, MD.







Aurelio Zuleta
Sexton

Mr. Zuleta joined the Staff of Immanuel as Sexton in November, 2002. He moved to the United States in July, 2002. Born and raised in Colombia, South America, Aurelio completed his university studies by obtaining a B.A. as a Professional Technician in Business Administration and a B.A. in Systems Technology. He and his wife, Denise, live in Reston; they have four children.

 

 

Elida Menendez
Sexton

Elida Menendez joined our staff in 2007. She moved here from El Salvador with her husband and family in the early 1990’s. Widowed not long afterward, she has raised her three children substantially by herself. Her eldest son Edenilson studies computer engineering and is the father of Fabian, age three. Daughter Stefany is a medical student in El Salvador and expects to graduate in August, 2009. David attends high school in Maryland and also intends to become a physician. Ms. Menendez has worked at several area churches and currently serves, not only at Immanuel, but also at Neelsville Presbyterian Church in Germantown; she is also a member of the custodial staff at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Ms. Menendez enjoys cooking and keeping a beautiful house for her family. She also drives people in need of transportation to doctors and hospital, and acts as an interpreter for Spanish-speaking patients.
